On the island of São Tomé, in the heart of West Africa, lies the oldest cacao plantation.
This island is called the “Island of Chocolate”, where heritage and ancestral traditions have been preserved for generations, and where the ancient knowledge of its people intertwines with the richness of nature.
The fertile volcanic soil, lush vegetation, and sunny climate create the perfect conditions for cultivating cacao with a truly unique character. In one of the island’s oldest orchards, the prized Trinitario variety flourishes, nurtured with care and respect for the land.

Production follows a fully natural path, rooted in respect for both people and the environment:
- Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with the utmost care.
- Fermentation takes place in the traditional way, fresh cacao beans, along with their white pulp, are wrapped in banana leaves and placed in wooden boxes, where over 5–8 days the subtle aromas of cacao are slowly revealed.
- Drying is carried out under the sun, with beans regularly turned to achieve perfect balance.
- Roasting uses advanced technology, allowing precise control over every parameter to preserve the unique character of each bean.
- Crushing and conching transform the cacao into a silky smooth mass, developing its full depth of flavour.
The plantation is committed to 100% organic, sustainable farming – free from chemicals or additives. It empowers local communities, ensures fair working conditions, protects children, supports women, respects the environment, and actively combats deforestation.
